Another case examines whether a web reporter is entitled to traditional press protections
Malia Zimmerman of the hawaiireporter.com has been subpoenaed to turn over her notes and interviews in a trial that she is not party to. While the case has not been resolved, the Society of Professional Journalists has issued its support for the blogger. This case mirrors a similar case in Minnesota where a blogger was sued for libel and the courts used the standard libel law to resolve the case in favor of the blogger.
